The place I love in this specific city, Gapyeong, is Morning Calm Garden which is an famous arboretum in Korea with its various types of tree and flower. I went to this place several times but it never makes me bored with its dynamic beauty. This place is awesome in every four season but I recommend spring flower season (specially in late April or early May) as its best if you have a time limitation as an international traveler.
This place is like a huge garden surrounding with beautiful and dynamic trees and flowers which is common in every garden but, other than that, I think that you would be able to feel some spiritual and oriental calmness that only true and happy nature can give it to you. I think it is the secret that many people love this place.
My mom and I enjoyed a cup of coffee drink inside of the Morning Calm Garden and went to the restaurant to enjoy the Han-jeongsik (Korean traditional home-style one-table menu) nearby the Garden. The place's name is Kowon. Specially for international travelers, this type of menus would be a good chance to experience a traditional home-style table culture in Korea. You would be able to enjoy various side dishes which Korean people enjoy in their daily food life. My mom also loves this type of menus.
